Ubiquity Prepares for Second Annual Tree Planting Day

21/04/09

Ubiquity continues its commitment to the environment with its second annual Tree Planting Day planned for Sunday, 3 May 2009.

Staff from Ubiquity and Genesis Energy joined forces to plant native saplings on Motutapu Island on Sunday, 19 October 2008, inspired by the success of the Genesis Energy Tree People website, built by Ubiquity.

Ubiquity has now decided to run an annual Tree Planting Day, offseting its annual carbon output by planting native saplings on Motutapu Island, with the help of The Motutapu Trust, an organisation dedicated to the re-vegetation of Motutapu Island. Staff from Ubiquity and its partner agencies and client companies, along with friends and families, are invited to volunteer to plant the trees.

Ubiquity builds sustainable electronic communication solutions for agencies and clients, helping protect the environment through a reduction in paper waste in landfills. Ubiquity also takes a number of sustainability initiatives, including using energy efficient company vehicles, and supporting sustainable organisations in the community.
